September 2007 Drafts

 Hi Heather,

Thanks for doing the newsletter again. I will try to keep it short so here it is:

This past little while has been busy and mostly fun for us here at home.  We went to LA mainly to see the Moultons, wish Harper a Happy Birthday and see Tanner play soccer.  We also went to the BYU vs. UCLA football game.  It was fun and neat to see the stadium.  We wish BYU had done better.   We also went to the beach and relaxed, went to church there and had lunch at the famous IN AND OUT.  We had a great time.

We also took a trip to Detroit to see little Aaron blessed.  He is such a sweet little guy.  It was good to see the Kimballs and go to church with them.  Alisha did a great job feeding everyone and keeping them entertained and Kip gave Aaron a wonderful blessing.

It is nice to have the Zirkers closer to us.  We got to babysit the girls while Camille and Darrick went to the BYU game and to purchase a new car.  It was great having the girls here.  It made life a lot more exciting for Devin. He has a hard time being around dad and I.

Devin did well at the county fair. He took top in everything.  He and Gizmo took Grand Champion in fitting and showing and also in meat quality.  He came home with two trophies and two big ribbons.  Gizmo was sold for $2,900.  Devin felt good about it.  Then he took Bulz Eye to the state fair.  He did well in fitting and showing there also and took nineth in meat quality.  He also got two more beautiful ribbons.  Bulz Eye sold for $1,400 which was a little dissappointing.  Tomorrow we go to pick up our steers for next year.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Devin also went to the Homecoming dance with Chelse Cleverly from Sugar City.  He wore his black sunday pants, a black shirt, white suspenders and black and white shoes.  He looked great.  They went 4-wheeling for their afternoon date and then to Chiz's for dinner and then to the dance.  He had a good time.

Dad and I had the opportunity to go through the Rexburg Temple again last night as part of the Temple committee.  It is really starting to look beautiful.  I love the art glass windows and high ceilings.  They imported all the wood from Africa, it has a beautiful grain in it.  Also, we were told that this temple will have the biggest marriage (or sealing) room in any temple.  It will seat 100 people!  It is beautiful.  We learned a lot about the construction of it and the detail and care that goes into building a Temple. It is going to be beautiful..  The project manager took us through and he told us that Bro. Parson's murals are just beautiful.  He also said that after the carpets are laid,, they have a carpet artist who comes in with a pair of hair clippers and cuts designs freehand in the carpet.  I wouldn't suggest you try that.

I gave my talk in stake conference.  It is nice tohave  over.  I am grateful for the experience but I hope I dont' have to do it again.  I spoke about how important it is to have and develop good patterns in your life.  Such as Family HOme Evening, Family Scripture Study and prayer, Temple attendance and paying Tithing.

Dallin is doing well.  He is serving in ITU now and was made Zone Leader.  I am glad he was finally transferred.  I was scared to have him in the last area because it was so dangerous.  He is having a great experience. We just learned that Nathan Wadsworth has been called to the same mission and will be leaving in January.

Dad is working hard - (that's a shock huh). He loves his job most of the time.  We sold 4-mile forthe price we were asking.  Now we just need to find some developers to come in and buy some other land.  Dad is working hard on that also to make it happen.  It will be nice if we can pull it off.

We love you all and appreciate what you do for us.  Thanks for your examples and the patterns you setting in your homes.

Here is my recipe that I found in the Rexburg Standard Journal.  I haven't tried it yet, but it sounded good.

Lasagna Roll-ups
1/2 pound groun d beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 t. garlic salt
1 jar (28 oz.) chuhky spagehetti sauce, divided
2 cups Italian-blend grated cheese - divided.
8 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
Preheat oven to 375 degreed. In a large frying pan, brown ground beef and onion until meat is no longer pink.  Drain, if necessary.  Remove from heat.  Sprinkle with garlic salt.  Add 1/2 cup spaghetti suace.  Allow meat to cool and then add 1 cup cheese.  Spread 1 cup spaghetti sauce into bottom of a 9x13 in  pan.  Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture down center of  each lasagna noodle; roll up and place seam side down in  pan.  Spread remaiing sauce over roll-ups.  Cover pan with aluminum foil.  Bake for 35 minutes or until heated through.  Sprinkle with remaining cheese.  Bake and additional 5 minutes or until cheese melts.  Let stand 5 minutes before serving.  Makes 6 servings.  * You many want to cook 10 noodles in case any break.

Hey Heather in your response to the newsletter I will send a recipe later because I don't have right off the top of my head, but here is in response to the newsletter! I will submit another excerpt that I have yet to put together and I hopefully I will get it in on time!   Life is going well for me here on the home front. I am continually learning so many things and developing in so many ways. This life is such a blessing.   I don't know whether I should mention this or not because I would feel like I am bragging but anyway I just recently got another raise at work!!! I was so excited about it and it came at such a needed time. Little does my boss know about the blessings of paying tithing. I know that is why I got because I don't deserve it otherwise. I also recently received a little plaque at work that I received for going, "Above and Beyond" at work that had a quote on it by Frank L. Vandersloot. All right enough of bragging now, life is going well for you me and I am so excited about everything that is going on. It seems like every time we have one of these newsletters I am moving. Well, it is possibly that time again. I am in the process of deciding whether or not I want to move to IF. It certainly is a different place ther but I think it will be good and it will save me quite a bit of money. I will let you know when that actually happens. Other than that, things are going pretty well, life is wonderful! It truly is such a blessing and I have all of you to thank for it. I really appreciate all of your examples and encouragement on a regular basis. You simply are the best! Well, enough about me, I love you all so much and I am so grateful for all you do! Oh don't forget to vote for Cosmo online! I am so dedicated to football right now I get a lot of rap from my roomates and many other people but oh well, GO COUGS!

Heather,
Here is ours.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute, but what do you expect? Thanks for doing it.  Love you.
Camille

Wow how time flies.  It is hard to believe that we have already been here in Pocatello for over three months.  We are starting to adjust and are probably about as unpacked as we can get at this point.

Darrick still loves work.  He just got finished with his month long rotation at the hospital.  He was there at 6 am every morning to start any and every IV that they needed done.  He had to do this to get his IV certification so that he can knock patients out in his office.  He has some exciting procedures scheduled for the next little while.  He was called as the Elders Quorum President a few weeks ago and is staying busy with that as well.  He is really enjoying it all.

Mom and Dad watched the kids for a night a week or so ago.  We went down to the BYU game and had a little time away.  It was fun.  We missed them.  That was the first time I had been away from them, but we had a good time.  The kids had a great time at grandpa and grandma’s house.  I don’t know if mom or dad got any sleep that night, but it was nice.  Thanks Dad, Mom, Devin and Carolyn.

I am still doing about the same.  I now have a big belly that is moving around quite a bit.  The girls love to feel “baby sister” kick, as well as give her hugs and kisses.  We are all excited for her to come.  We still have no idea for a name, but we still have 3 months right.  Primary is lots of fun.  There are some fun kids.  I am enjoying being in there.  Camden and Dakota sure love going.  Camden can’t wait for Sunday to be here each week so that she can go to church.

Camden is growing up fast.  Some days I think that she is 3 going on 20.  She is taking gymnastics and really liking that.  It is more for fun than skill, so they mess around a lot, but hey she has a good time.  She is really into cards and scrap booking, and loves to do her reading lessons!  She is doing so great at it.  She is so creative and is always coming up with fun little things for us to do.

We can’t believe our little Dakota.  It is hard to believe that she is going to be 2 soon.  She is a lot of fun and wants to do every single thing that her sister does.  She is talking so much and is quite the little character.  It is fun to watch her grow up.  Her favorite thing to do is yell out the window when her dad goes somewhere and say “bye snicklefritz, bye goofball.”  She thinks that she is something.  Sometimes when she is missing him she climbs up to the window and starts saying it, even when he isn’t there.  It is fun and all but we were leaving someone’s house the other day and she said it to them.  I think that we will have to start regulating it. : )

We have a new member of the family.  We finally broke down and bought a new car.  It is a Kia Sedona.  Boy do we feel like we have a ton of room.  The girls love it.   They run around and play every time that we get in.  It is just a little different than the 2 door car.  Other than that things are about the same.  We are looking forward to the wonderful fall weather and colors.  We love you all.

Mom forwarded this from a friend:

Grandkids-

TRIVIA: FRED ASTAIRE WAS ALLERGIC TO FEATHERS.My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. Heasked me how old I was, and I told him, "62" He was quiet for amoment, and then he asked, "Did you start at one?"*********************************************************************After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed intoold slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. Asshe heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patiencegrew thin. At last she threw a towel around her head and stormedinto their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As sheleft the room, she heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice,"Who was THAT?"*******************************************************************A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her ownchildhood was like: "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had aswing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. Werode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The littlegirl was wide-eyed, taking this in. At last she said, "I sure wishI'd gotten to know you sooner!"*********************************************************************My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, "Grandma, do you knowhow you and God are alike?" I mentally polished my halo while Iasked, "No, how are we alike?" "You're both old," he replied.********************************************************* ************A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's wordprocessor. She told him she was writing a story. "What's it about?"he asked. "I don't know," she replied. "I can't read."*********************************************************************I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colors yet, so Idecided to test her. I would point out something and ask what colorit was. She would tell me, and always she was correct. But it was fun forme, so I continued. At last she headed for the door, saying sagely,"Grandma, I think you should try to figure out some of theseyourself!"********************************************************************When my grandson Billy and I entered our vacation cabin, we kept thelights off until we were inside to keep from attracting peskyinsects. Still, a few fireflies followed us in. Noticing them before Idid, Billy whispered, "It's no use, Grandpa. The mosquitoes are comingafter us with flashlights."*********************************************************************When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'mnot sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandma," he advised. "Mine saysI'm four to six."************************************************************A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother,"Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today." Thegrandmother, more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. "That'sinteresting," she said, "How do you make babies?" "It'ssimple," replied the girl. "You just change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'"*********************************************************************Children's Logic: "Give me a sentence about a public servant," said ateacher The small boy wrote: "The fireman came down the ladderpregnant."The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. "Don't you know whatpregnant means?" she asked. "Sure," said the young boy confidently. "Itmeans carrying a child."*********************************************************************A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kidshome one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the frontseat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children starteddiscussing the dog's duties. "They use him to keep crowds back,"said one youngster."No, said another, "he's just for good luck."A third child brought the argument to a close. "They use the dogs",she said firmly, "to find the fire hydrant."
