Broadhead Family Newsletter

November 2006

Just a little housekeeping before you get started. We will be waiting until February for the newsletter. I just want everyone to have one less thing to stress about and maybe we will just do it quarterly. You are so wonderful to do this for me. I think we can take a break on the scrapbooking for awhile too unless someone is upset about that. If you owe pictures or have pictures, please finish, but otherwise don’t worry about December or any other month until further notice. The packages for Dallin for the next few months are as follows:

January –Kimballs

February – Moultons

March –Carolyn

Carolyn

Life is grand and wonderful and I am just having so much fun right now. Work is going really well, probably the best it has gone the whole year I have been there. I just received another raise, a very ssmall one but it is a raise none the less. I have gotten 3 raises in the last six months, I am soooo blessed. All I can say is I know there is always someone watching out for me. I was interviewed for the promotion I was going to receive but I haven't gotten it yet, I am waiting and hoping. So that is what is going on with work, I am pretty excited. Other things that are going on now is I am on the missionary committee in my branch and I love it. I haven't done a whole lot with it yet but I am excited. It should be really good. Life is grand and I am so grateful for the gospel in my life. Thank you all so much for all you do on a daily basis for me and for all the very nice things I received for my birthday. I truly appreciate it. I also want to wish little Kota a happy late birthday and know she is growing to fast for her own good. I love all of you and truly appreciate all you do. You are the best! well, I guess I will close this now and get off my soap box but not before I leave you with the inspiring quote of the month, so here it is. Quote of the month: excerpt from Sister Hinckley's book, "Small and Simple Things" "Robert Louis Stevenson said, "To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becomign, is the only end of life............ Sister Hinckley continues, "The gospel calls to us to stretch ourselves, to embrace our talents, to concentrate on our strengths, to be productive, to be creative, to reach our full potential, which few of us ever do. We seem to get discouraged by such trivial things and fail to see the great things we are capable of doing." That quote has just motivated me to such a higher ground and helping to become a better person. I love it!!

Mom, Dad and Devin

Hi everyone. I can't believe November is gone! Well, time moves on

when you stay busy I guess.

Devin started in wrestling two weeks ago. He comes home tired and

sweaty and hungry every night. All he has to eat for dinner is a salad.

His first match is next Wednesday. He has finished up the first semester of

his Junior year and is glad it is over. He will have to miss his Junior

Prom because he has a big wrestling tournament. He was a little sad about

that. He is playing church basketball and having fun with it. He laughs

because everyone on the team takes it so serious. He just goes to have fun

he says. It was great for him during Thanksgiving to have someone else in

the house. He gets pretty lonely around here. He and dad spent another

hour or two, putting chicken wire over the entire top of Mia house because

she was climbing over it and jumping out!!!

Dad continues to love his job and stay very busy with it. He went to

Boston to see how Harvard does their case studies. He also has a couple

more trips in December. The thing that relaxes dad, (I think) is working

with the cows. But, the work is never done, so that causes stress. His

stress right now is having enough wind breaks for all the cows and bulls.

He keeps saying that things continue to get easier and better as we make

improvements. He is looking forward to getting a few new cows delivered

this week from Nebraska.

I am just mom. Preschool is going pretty good. The children are

excited for the holidays. I am trying to find connections to see if I can

get Santa Claus to come to preschool some day in December. He is a very

busy man though so I hope I can at least get one of his helpers to come and

see the children. I started Decorating last night. Before I could put the

tree up though, I had to get the livingroom carpet scrubbed. It had been

over a year since I had it scrubbed and it needed it. Then I finally got

Devin to bring the tree in. When we got it in the house, we found a

squirrels nest in it. It had dog food in it and straw. We took it outside

to clean it out good and broke the stand when we went to stand it up. I

guess that means we will have to get a new tree!! I won't put it back in

the house with all that squirrel mess in it anyway. That tree has been good

to us, but it is time to say goodby to it. Besides decorating, I am

trying to get a package ready to send to Dallin, make some gifts for

grandchildren, make Christmas cards and get them sent, feeding the steers

and Mia every day, doing errands and many other very interesting duties.

Life is good and I am grateful to have a family who loves the Lord and tries

to do what is right.

Kimballs

The Kimballs are doing good.

Moultons

Hey there everyone. We are doing fine here in Sunny Southern California. We had a nice Thanksgiving in Vegas and look forward to a wonderful Christmas as well. The kids are doing well in school and getting ready for upcoming choir performances and Harper’s class play. Tanner is directing the entire 1st grade during the Dradel song! Who knew that Tanner was part Jewish?

Harper’s teacher also told her that she pronounces the Hebrew really well in her Jewish songs. Can someone do the Geneology for me? =) Harper and Tanner are singing in a Stake Choir next week and we can’t wait to hear them. They are growing up to be such great kids. Harper’s teacher asked her to narrate a little commercial she did for something called Project Love a couple of months ago. Families have the opportunity to buy gifts for Native American children that live at their schools during the school year. We had fun shopping for 4 of the children and enjoyed looking for a Hula Hoop everywhere from here to Las Vegas! We found one and it is on its way to Arizona. Harper’s teacher asked if we would like accompany her to Arizona to deliver the gifts. It was a very hard decision to make. In the end Harper decided she didn’t want to be away from her dad and I didn’t think Tanner and all his stomach issues could handle things right now. We decided not to go but the teacher said we could go with them next year if we wanted. They stop in Flagstaff and go visit the Grand Canyon on their little trip and it sure brought back some memories of Jacob Lake while I was talking to her and also of the stories Mom and Dad would tell about Shannon and Debbie. We have been so blessed with so many wonderful opportunities and challenges here.

Trevor traveled to Chicago and Denver last month and really enjoyed Denver. He said it was beautiful. The Lord continues to provide me with people to play tennis with. I now go on Thursdays and play with a retired Air Force Quality Assurance person. She is great and really gives me a run for my money! This climate is great. Some days it is a lttle cold and we have had to turn the heater on, but otherwise it is wonderful.

I hung Christmas lights on the outside of our house this year and we have decorations all over the place. I have worked really hard because I am hosting part of a progressive dinner here for Relief Society and the next week some people in the ward want to throw a surprise party for someone here. The fun never ends! We wish you all the most wonderful holiday ever. We think about you often and pray for you. Merry Christmas everyone!

Zirkers

Everything is great in the Zirker house. We had a great trip out to Idaho for Thanksgiving. Camden thought that she had died and gone to heaven with all of the dress-up stuff. We had a lot of fun. They were probably ready to get rid of us. The kids were as crazy as ever. While there we had the opportunity to check out some stuff in Bozeman. It was okay, but probably not our focus anymore. Darrick also interviewed for an AEGD residency in Pocotello. They have a great program there. We will find out if he gets in or not the first week in January. It was a long drive out there and back, but it was worth it. Every time that we make the trip, we say that it will be the last one in the Cavalier, but who knows. It sure is squished and cozy in there.

Things have been crazy around our house over the last little while. I had to play the violin at the ward Christmas party last week. It was The First Noel and I played a Jesu Joy of Man's desire part to it. It was 9/8 and I had 9 notes in every measure. Boy was it crazy. I am so glad to have that over. I have to play a song with the ward chior this next week in Sacrament meeting, so I think it will be another fun week.

The girls got to sit on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas party. Camden did so good. Kota, not so good. Camden praicticed all day and got right up and said exactly what she wanted, (which included a princess nightgown, and polly pockets) :) It was fun. It is sad to be leaving the ward, but it will be a good change. I think the Sunbeams will be great for Camden. She will love it!

We love you all and hope that you have a very Merry Christmas!!!
